At the 143rd Audio Engineering Society Convention in New York, Jensen Transformers expanded its ISO-MAX line of products. The new PI-RJ2X for balanced XLR connections, and the CI-RJ2R for unbalanced RCA connections, are both designed to take a stereo L-R signal, sum it into mono, and output the signal over Ethernet. Jensen also introduced the DIN-LI-SUM-B, and DIN-LI-SUM-U, 35mm DIN rail interface modules, with L-R summing functionality.
Sending line level audio over Cat 5/Cat 6 ethernet cables is a common and widely used practice in the A/V industry today. Up until now, systems installers have been using products based upon low-cost and low-performing baluns, or inexpensive audio transformers. Baluns offer no high frequency isolation, and miniature, low cost audio transformers can seriously degrade the signal quality. Jensen Transformers solved this problem with a transmitter/receiver combination that maintains true high-performance signal quality throughout the conversion process.
There are now two versions available in Jensen's popular ISO-MAX product line that provide transmit and receive over Ethernet connections: the new PI-RJ2X for balanced XLR connections, and the CI-RJ2R for unbalanced RCA connections. Both modules are designed to take a stereo L-R signal (either balanced or unbalanced), sum it into mono, and output the signal through one of Jensen's world-famous audio transformers, which provides complete galvanic isolation and immunity from hum, buzz and noise caused by ground loops, while maintaining the highest audio quality.
A simple summing functionality is available in a DIN rail interface format, with the new ISO-MAX DIN-LI-SUM-B and DIN-LI-SUM-U. Both take a stereo L-R signal (either balanced or unbalanced), sum it into mono, and output the signal through one of Jensen's world-famous audio transformers. These modules can be easily installed by A/V system contractors into rack or wall mountable 35mm DIN Rail systems. Both have gold plated, screw terminal, pluggable connectors for ease of installation and service. A schematic diagram showing the actual internal circuitry is printed on the side of each module; no need to hunt for manuals in the middle of a wiring job.
