Gaudio Lab will return to CES 2025 with another innovative application exploring the possibilities of artificial intelligence in audio. Already recognized by the CTA Innovation Awards judges with a CES 2025 Innovation Award (which are confirmed prior to the show), the new Gaudio Music Placement solution addresses challenges in video content production and distribution and expands upon its previous Generative AI tools.
Following the launch of its Just Voice app, leveraging its sound source separation and background noise removal tools, Gaudio returns to Las Vegas with an expansion of its FALL-E implementation, which used Generative AI to create background sounds and effects suitable for images, via a text prompt. With Gaudio Music Placement the innovative South Korean research and development organization takes the concept a step further and helps generate background music, sounds and more, to suit a video or image sequence - ideal for fast editing content.
And even before the presentation of this new technology at CES, Gaudio Lab received its third consecutive CES Innovation Award, bringing its total to four awarded products, recognizing its research at the forefront of AI audio technology. The new Gaudio Music Placement AI engine allows users to efficiently handle tasks such as background music selection and placement, music replacement, dubbing, subtitles, sound effects, noise reduction, and dialogue isolation – significantly reducing the time needed for these labor-intensive processes.
Currently, an early version with select features, Gaudio Music Replacement is commercially available, with the complete version set for release in the first half of next year. The technology - Gaudio believes - could help tackle the prevalent background music copyright issues that arise in video content distribution. Gaudio's AI is even able to quickly replace original music with high-quality, copyright-free options that closely match the original, avoiding the use of non-authorized material.
The solution also leverages Gaudio's audio separation technology to isolate and enhance dialogue, and simplifies the application of various sound effects. In the same environment it will even be theoretically possible to soon generate automated language dubbing. As the company reveals, leading broadcasters in Korea have already adopted this solution, and discussions are underway with broadcasters in Japan.
"We are thrilled to receive the CES Innovation Award for three consecutive years, affirming our AI audio technology as world-class. As global demand for cross-border content continues to grow, we will keep refining our products to enable fast and easy access to content distribution worldwide," stated Gaudio Lab's CEO, Henney Oh.
Gaudio Lab will showcase its suite of technologies and products at CES 2025 in Las Vegas (January 7-10) in its own booth in the Global Pavilion, at the Venetian Expo and Convention Center (formerly Sands Expo).
Gaudio Lab was founded in 2015, following the company's spatial audio technology for headphones was adopted as the binaural renderer for the ISO/IEC MPEG-H Audio standard in 2014. Ever since its establishment, the company has worked to develop other audio technologies, gaining the attention and support from top global strategic investors such as SoftBank Ventures, Samsung Venture Investment and Naver Corp. Gaudio's Loudness Normalization Technology was embraced by leading broadcasters, was adopted as a domestic standard through the Korea Telecommunication Technology Association (TTA), and later recognized as a standard by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
