Edifier Announces LolliClip Open-Ear True Wireless Noise-Cancelling Earbuds

February 21 2025, 14:10
Edifier announced LolliClip, a bold new open-ear design that the company claims is able to offer effective adaptive active noise cancellation to block out unwanted noise. The interchangeable true wireless earbuds feature an innovative ear-clip design that enhances compatibility, providing a comfortable and secure fit. Edifier also added other premium features to the LolliClip, including spatial audio with head-tracking, and Hi-Res Wireless Audio.

With the announcement of the AirPods 4 ANC, Apple launched a new race for the next open-ear true wireless earbuds that will be able to offer effective levels of active noise cancellation. Since CES 2025, multiple companies have claimed to be next, but now Edifier introduced a new ear-clip design that it says is able to combine the benefits of open-ears for the user to remain aware of the surrounding, with effective ANC. The Edifier LolliClip design seems to be an evolution of the Huawei FreeClip, but with a loose-fit design earbud that sits in the ear concha.

It is clear that Edifier is making a serious effort to achieve the best of both worlds. Maintain an essentially open-ear design that is a hybrid between the ear-ring form factor of the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds, and achieve the same level of effectiveness for active processing as Apple managed to create with the AirPods 4 ANC in a loose-fit format (the first in the industry, and with exceptional results). The design, Edifier says, combines adaptive ANC processing with directional acoustic technology that minimizes sound leakage, enhancing sound quality. The adaptive processing is able to intelligently adjust the noise reduction based on the fit and surrounding sounds, Edifier adds.

Each earbud has three high-sensitivity microphones and leverages an AI algorithm that ensures improved hands-free calls.
Edifier is a renowned manufacturer of premium sound systems, and its LolliClip earbuds are an interesting achievement, featuring a secure multicurve ear-clip as the design foundation. Apart from adaptive ANC, the Bluetooth 5.4 design also adds immersive spatial audio with head-tracking. Certified for Hi-Res Wireless Audio with LDAC 24-bit/96kHz support, the LolliClip earbuds deliver rich sound via a 13mm dynamic driver with a titanium-coated diaphragm. Equipped with 3+3 microphones and an AI algorithm for clear calls, the earbuds are IP56-rated for durability. Multipoint connection enables seamless device switching, and the Edifier ConneX App offers extra features like heart rate detection and personalized controls.

The LolliClip open-ear design leverages an innovative multi-curvature ear-clip, wrapped in skin-friendly silicone that ensures a secure, comfortable fit for daily use. This is already the second product from Edifier to explore the ear-clip form factor, and the company seems to have explored lessons learned. With a symmetrical design and intelligent audio channel detection, the LolliClip earbuds automatically calibrate audio channels, allowing for interchangeable wear on either side — enhancing both convenience and versatility. This allows users to seamlessly switch between the two Bluetooth devices for a more convenient experience.

Edifier also specifies up to 9 hours of playback on a single charge, with a total of 39 hours using the USB-C charging case, while a quick 15-minute charge provides 3 hours of listening time. The Edifier LolliClip earbuds are available for $129.99 on Amazon.com.
