German company DHD audio develops and produces a full range of digital audio studio equipment and systems for professional applications in broadcast control rooms, DJ-operated radio studios, OB trucks, SNG vans, ingest stations and edit suites. Launching at IBC 2024, RM1 is a compact, lightweight desktop unit, designed as a mobile audio mixer and multichannel interface with integrated audio processing capability. With a robust, compact chassis, it offers high signal quality and versatility for applications in the studio or in the field, including podcasting, web radio, live streaming and remote or onsite broadcast contribution. Leveraging its experience in broadcast, DHD designed an easily configurable user interface, with presets that can be tailored for every voice and style.
Features include an audio equalizer, compressor, limiter, multitrack recorder and on-air tally. A particularly useful feature is AutoMix which automatically balances all incoming audio channels, managing background music and unwanted distractions to ensure a clean and balanced mix. RM1 also brings other automation features such as automatic gain leveling and control, delivering a signal ready for distribution.

The full potential of RM1 can be accessed via the integrated interface which can be connected from almost any device supporting a web browser. Using this interface users can access production-ready presets for popular microphones to get started quickly. Input level gain as well as headphone or speaker volume can be adjusted from the front panel along with other input related settings such as gain or phantom power. Audio level gain can be set manually or based on a speech sample and automatically optimized.

Incoming calls or voice message playback can be managed quickly via the integrated Bluetooth connectivity, USB or the auxiliary input. Connect microphones and headphones, and you are ready to roll."
Connectivity includes two state-of-the-art mic preamps and two headphone amplifiers, multichannel-USB, Bluetooth and speaker out. The headphone outputs enable zero-latency monitoring, ensuring real-time feedback during recordings, and essential monitoring during live podcasts. Redundant Dante audio over IP ports allow for simple studio integration, supporting multiple RM1s and network expansion for more participants. DHD audio also confirmed the intention to evolve the RM1 over time, keeping the setup always ready for new challenges with automatic updates that bring new features and enhancements.
