Propellerhead Software announced that Reason 8 is now available for purchase. This major new version of Reason introduces a completely redesigned user interface and streamlined new workflow that, as they describe it, “sparks your creativity, moves you faster from idea to music and is more fun than ever.”

Reason 8 introduces a redesigned user interface allowing quick and easy access to sounds, loops and patches whenever they are needed using a new browser and search window. There’s also a new collection of amp emulations for guitar and bass, modeled from legendary circuits by another swedish software-powerhouse, Softube.
Softube’s Amp and Bass Amp collection features modeled guitar amplifiers and guitar and bass speaker cabinets - with four modeled guitar amplifiers and four guitar cabinets and two modeled bass amplifiers — Modern and Vintage — and three different speaker bass cabinets. The cabinets include models of the studio microphones that were used and studio room emulations for a natural sound. Any amp can be combined with any cabinet for a wide variety of sounds and the controls are shared by all amplifiers.
Reason 8 also features countless usability improvements, now allowing for drag-and-drop gestures from anywhere to anything and faster functions with fewer clicks. Tracks can be edited quickly with more powerful sequence note editing with easy access and configuration to any of the Rack Extension plug-ins available in the Propellerhead shop and expanding fast.
