Boston audio and electroacoustic test and measurement specialist, Listen is promoting another edition of its popular 2-day SoundCheck training class on May 17-18th in Elgin, IL (just outside Chicago). This will be a not-to-miss opportunity until the company holds its California SoundCheck and Electroacoustics Training, later in October, in Santa Clara, CA.
SoundCheck Training is designed for engineers and technicians who are responsible for the measurement and analysis of the acoustical performance of electroacoustic products and audio electronics either in R&D or Production. Current SoundCheck users and anyone interested in thoroughly evaluating SoundCheck as an audio test platform are encouraged to attend. This intensive, “hands-on” course will enable participants to utilize the full functionality of SoundCheck and provide the necessary tools to efficiently create audio and electroacoustic tests.
The class covers all the major features of SoundCheck version 14, including writing sequences, test signals, analysis, distortion measurements and more. The class is a combination of presentations interspersed with hands-on exercises to ensure that users are comfortable with all the concepts and methods taught before they leave the classroom. Although no previous SoundCheck experience is assumed, the course still offers plenty to users familiar with writing basic sequences. Although the SoundCheck training is intended as a 2-day program, it is possible to attend just one day of the training.
California in October 2016For those not able to attend the Chicago training, the next opportunity promoted by Listen is already scheduled for October 10-12, 2016. The California SoundCheck and Electroacoustics Training will be a 3 day event in Santa Clara, CA, featuring a 1-day course on electroacoustics testing, presented by Chris Struck of CJS Labs, followed by a 2 day SoundCheck training class.
In the Electroacoustics class, participants will learn about the theory behind audio measurements. The content will cover sound level measurement, psychoacoustics, electroacoustics, soundfields in real rooms, frequency responses, test signals and more. It is ideal for those new to the industry or anyone wishing to gain a better understanding of the measurement principles behind their acoustic tests.
The hands-on SoundCheck class covers all the major features of the new SoundCheck version 15, including writing sequences, test signals, analysis, distortion measurements and more. Full details and registration information will be available shortly.
