The largest headphone and personal audio expo in North America was evidence the headphone market is booming. Produced by Head-Fi.org, CanJam SoCal 2016 showcased over 60 exhibitors in 12,000 sq. ft. of event space, featuring new product introductions and increased attendance.

Users of Hulu’s VR app will benefit from movies and TV shows streamed using the HE-AAC surround sound audio codec and rendered for headphones through Fraunhofer Cingo.

RIAA Publishes 2015 Year-End Sales & Shipments Data Report

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) published its annual Year-End Sales & Shipments report for 2015 and the results show that digital music subscription services reached new all-time highs, generating more than $1 billion in revenues for the first time, and averaging nearly 11 million paid subscriptions for the year. Revenues from vinyl albums also increased and represented a record $416 million.
