After last year’s successful show at the Hilton Washington/Rockville, Capital Audiofest confirmed it will remain in the same location and has set the show dates as July 8–10, 2016. The Capital Audiofest is the Washington DC Metropolitan Area and Mid Atlantic Region’s only comprehensive quality audio event. This year CanMania will be completely taking over the Plaza Ballroom on the ground floor, with an expanded selection of the best in personal audio and headgear.

Hi-Res Music Initiative Expands to Include Music Streaming Services

Music streaming is officially going high resolution. The industry’s official logo mark for Hi-Res MUSIC – previously applicable primarily to high-quality digital download services – will soon be available for adoption by music streaming services as well, according to an announcement from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and its member companies Universal, Sony, and Warner, in cooperation with the Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing, the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM), and DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group.

A recent survey conducted by Canada based brand research firm Lux Insights puts consumer awareness of Bluetooth wireless technology at 92 percent globally, with 62 percent of respondents reporting a purchasing preference for Bluetooth enabled products, noting Bluetooth is reliable, easy to use, and makes life easier. The online survey was conducted in five languages across seven countries in January 2016 among 2,912 consumers responsible for technology purchases.
