Renesas Acquires Dialog Semiconductor to Strengthen Leadership in Embedded Solutions

Japanese advanced semiconductor solutions manufacturer Renesas Electronics, and Dialog Semiconductor, an established supplier in power management, charging, AC/DC power conversion, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology solutions, announced they have reached an agreement towards an all-cash acquisition by Renesas of the entire capital of Dialog for EUR 67.50 per share, representing a total equity value of approximately EUR 4.9 billion (5.8 billion USD).

With the announcement that AVIXA had decided to reschedule its InfoComm show from June to October 2021, other synchronized events are also forced to reschedule. That is what happens with the ALTI's (Audio & Loudspeaker Technologies International) own event, promoted just prior to the opening of the exhibition days of InfoComm at a nearby hotel. ALTI-Expo 2021, which was previously scheduled for June 14 & 15, has been rescheduled to October 24 & 25, 2021.

The Audiovisual Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA), owner of the InfoComm tradeshow, issued a letter to the industry and its community confirming a postponement of the InfoComm 2021 Show from June to October 2021. Not exactly the best news for a lot of professionals and companies in the AV industry, but certainly not unexpected given the circumstances of the pandemic. While most analysts and market intelligence firms predicted significant declines in the first months of the COVID-19 global pandemic, it seems that the global consumer electronics sector did very well, given the circumstances. According to Strategy Analytics latest report Global Consumer Electronics Market Forecasts 2014-2024, consumer electronics revenues rose 7% in 2020, reaching $358.5Bn. Home computers, tablets and games consoles led the way.
