iZotope launched Spire Recorder for iPhone, a free 4-track recording app allowing for better quality recordings with built-in audio enhancement based on iZotope’s Emmy-award winning digital signal processing (DSP) technology. Available now for free in the Apple App Store, Spire offers a simple way to record, mix, and share content via an easy-to-use and powerful interface.

The new app for iPhone records up to 4 tracks and features tap and set tempo functions with a streamlined metronome, adjustable mic input controls, while adding simple touch-and-drag mixing controls which allow improving the overall result. iZotope Spire allows better sound quality recordings thanks to its built-in limiter, de-esser, dynamic EQ, compressor, and stereo imager - something not usually available on free recording apps.
Another important feature in this new app is the way it was designed to simply share finished recordings through text, email, apps and cloud storage services like Google Drive and Dropbox, or even share with the world by submitting tracks to the MadeWithSpire SoundCloud.

Spire Recorder V1.0 is available now on the Apple App Store as a free download. Spire is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch and requires iOS 8.1 or later. More information on the dedicated website MadeWithSpire.com.
Future Product Focus
Meanwhile, the Cambridge, Massachusetts, software company announced a strategic decision to divide the current iZotope product line into two distinct families of products, one focused on Music Production and the other on Audio Post Production.
“Since 2001, iZotope has developed products to inspire musicians, producers, and audio engineers of all kinds,” explains Mark Ethier, co-founder and CEO. “In recent years, more and more audio post production professionals have joined our community, with unique needs from the world of TV, film, and other media. To keep inspiring all of our customers, we know we need to address each world individually.”

Moving forward, the Music Production family is led by one of iZotope’s flagship products, Ozone for mastering, and is complemented by products for mixing, vocals, and creative effects, like Alloy, Nectar, and Trash. The Audio Post Production family spotlights iZotope’s other flagship product, RX, the Emmy Award-winning audio repair and enhancement suite. Rounding out the family of Post tools are RX Final Mix for balancing mixes and submixes, and RX Loudness Control for ensuring loudness compliance with international loudness standards.
Major releases are planned for both product lines in the Fall of 2015.
