New Actran 16 Release Delivers New Advances for Acoustic Response in Bigger Domains and for Higher Frequencies
Free Field Technologies (FFT), an MSC Software Company, announced the release of Actran 16. The new release provides new audio and electroacoustic capabilities; acoustic propagation in huge domains and at high frequencies; new aeroacoustic modeling capabilities for fast virtual testing; and co-simulation with other MSC Software tools for multi-discipline analyses. The new release also introduces performance enhancements, including on graphical user interface and its meshing tool.

139th International AES Convention and Successful AES67 Interoperability Demonstration
With an all-time high record of nearly 20,000 visitors, the 139th Audio Engineering Society Convention in New York City was a huge success, according to the AES final report. A major highlight at the show and attracting a lot of attention, the Media Networking Alliance (MNA) promoted for the very first time in public a live demonstration of audio networking based on the new AES67 interoperability standard.

A new study from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) finds the audio category is constantly evolving with new features and products entering the market, including high-resolution equipment. More than half of recent audio technology consumers are interested in Hi-Res Audio (HRA) and three-quarters researched audio products in physical stores.
RF Venue Releases OS X Spectrum Analysis Software for RF Explorer
Boston-based wireless audio manufacturer RF Venue has released Vantage, a native Mac OS X spectrum analysis and frequency monitoring application for use with its RF Explorer portable spectrum analyzers as well as RF Venue’s rack-based RF Explorer RackPRO. The software is the first professional third-party RF Explorer interface and coordination program that was built exclusively for the Macintosh OS X environment.
