Steinberg Introduces Two-Channel UR24C Audio Interface with USB-C

Steinberg introduced a compact two-channel audio interface with 32-bit/192 kHz audio resolution and flexible headphone monitoring modes ideal for recording and performing. The new UR24C is the latest of an entire line-up of UR-C USB 3.0 interfaces that are designed for musicians, producers and performers, featuring two Class-A D-PRE mic preamps with +48 V phantom power, two DI inputs, 4 RCA line outputs and 2 TRS main outputs with switchable monitor modes.

Steinberg presented its latest audio interface at the 2020 NAMM show in Anaheim. The new, rack-mountable AXR4U audio interface, provides a USB-C alternative to the already available AXR4T Thunderbolt 2 interface. Featuring the highest audio quality, DSP effects to monitor the sound with various signal processors alongside hybrid microphone preamps and Rupert Neve Designs SILK technology, the AXR4U audio interface provides USB 3.0 data transfer with USB-C connectivity.

It's taking a while , but finally we are seeing a consistent transition to more USB-C audio solutions. Steinberg announced the immediate availability of its new range of audio interfaces, comprising the UR22C, the UR44C and the UR22C Recording Pack. An additional UR816C rackmount interface is scheduled for release in November 2019. Each model in the new range features different input/output capabilities, sharing the same overall robust build quality, Yamaha D-PRE audio preamps and a comprehensive software bundle.

Antelope Audio announced availability of Amári — a reference-grade AD/DA converter capable of 24-bit, 384 kHz conversion and with DSD256 support. Clearly targeted at a more demanding music enthusiast segment, the company says Amári "is most likely the only device on the market that can achieve 138dB dynamic range," thanks to using eight CS43198 DAC chips at its D/A stage. The Amári features an easy-to-use interface and includes a unique headphone membrane weight compensation system with user-selectable output resistance.

Microchip made a series of announcements for Embedded World 2017, including a completely new generation of 8-bit PIC MCUs for complex designs. The new PIC18 “K42” family offers a versatile array of Core Independent Peripherals with DMA and vectored interrupts for improved system performance with less code. Other announcements include new advanced Gigabit Ethernet products ideal for infotainment applications, and a new secure CEC1702 32-bit MCU for connected solutions.
