UWB Alliance and FiRa Consortium Start Working Together to Accelerate the Development and Adoption of UWB Technology

To better support and strengthen the adoption of Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology, the two existing supporting organizations, UWB Alliance and the FiRa Consortium have established a joint liaison agreement to align their ideas and get their act together. This liaison will provide the two organizations with guiding principles to ultimately achieve the common goal of creating a UWB-enabled ecosystem and supporting use of UWB technology, which could be an important enabler in critical health and safety, personal networks or smart home applications.

Rohde & Schwarz is paving the way for research in the terahertz frequency range by demonstrating multi gigabit data transmission in the D-Band at 140 GHz. The German test and measurement specialist announced its R&S FSW high-end signal and spectrum analyzers with optional internal 4 GHz, 6.4 GHz and 8.3 GHz analysis bandwidth, providing unmatched dynamic range and sensitivity. This new hardware option will be available soon from Rohde & Schwarz and will enable key new applications, including amplifier pre-distortion tests.

Rohde & Schwarz and Decawave are cooperating to demonstrate test functions for the new generation of Decawave Ultra Wideband (UWB) devices with the new generation of Rohde & Schwarz radio communication tester, the R&S CMP200. With this solution, both companies address manufacturers planning wireless devices using Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology to provide secure location-based services and other potential applications for the technology, quickly gaining momentum in the consumer electronics industry.

Alteros, an Audio-Technica Company, was at InfoComm 2019 to promote the latest developments in its expanding Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Wireless Microphone System. Since its introduction, the Alteros GTX 6.5 GHz Ultra Wide Band digital wireless microphone system has been successfully deployed and proven in high-profile broadcast event and live production environments. Now the company introduced a Direct-to-Fiber extension to the system and introduced two new handheld transmitters in the GTX Series.

Alteros, an Audio-Technica company, announced the appointment of Jonathan Novick to the position Director of Sales & Marketing. As a longtime veteran of the audio industry, Novick is uniquely qualified to help propel sales of Alteros UWB wireless technology and will work closely with the rest of the Alteros team to position the brand for its next phase of growth in the marketplace. The announcement was made by Jackie Green, Alteros President/CTO.

Following the creation of its subsidiary company, capitalizing on Audio-Technica’s RF technology research, Alteros will head to NAB 2017 to introduce its GTX Series Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Wireless Microphone System for professional and broadcast applications. The new GTX Series is a fully digital 6.5GHz system that delivers the highest quality, low-latency, un-companded audio, that bypasses the increasingly congested RF spectrum and is completely immune to regulatory changes.
