TASCAM Celebrates Analog Audio with Limited Release Master 424 Studio C-60 High Bias Type II Cobalt Cassette

In celebration of the company’s 50th anniversary, TASCAM launched the TASCAM Studio 424 Master cassette, a limited release genuine high bias cobalt oxide cassette specifically engineered for use with TASCAM Portastudio cassette recorders. The tape formulation was tested specifically in recalibrated and restored vintage TASCAM Portastudio workstations - the multitrack recorders that opened the door to home recording over 40 years ago.

IK Multimedia has released the T-RackS Tape Machine Collection for its industry standard T-RackS mixing and mastering software workstation. This new collection of plug-ins recreates the iconic sound and character of four classic tape recording machines from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s: the Ampex 440B, the Studer A80, the MCI JH24 and the Revox PR99. In addition to finely detailed machine emulations, the collection also offers a selection of reel-to-reel tape formulas, variable tape speed, transport controls, and other tone shaping features.
