L-Acoustics Introduces Automatic Source Separation on L-ISA Processors

L-Acoustics promoted an event in London for its distribution network and press, where it unveiled a comprehensive suite of audio innovations and strategic partnerships. Among the multiple updates disclosed in the event, the French company included a completely new solution for live DJ performances, adding automatic source separation directly running in the L-ISA Processor II, controlled by an updated L-ISA Controller with the brand-new L-Acoustics DJ App.

Harman International, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, announced the acquisition of Caaresys, an Israel-based company founded in 2017 that develops vehicle passenger monitoring systems powered by contactless, low-emission radar. Caaresys has successfully partnered with leading OEMs and provides a mass production solution for cabin monitoring including vital signs sensing, passenger localization and Child Presence Detection (CPD).

Zylia continues to expand its efforts in the field of 3D audio recording and production, showing a remarkable pace of product development and innovation. The Polish startup now released the new version of ZYLIA Studio, the company's software dedicated to work with the ZM-1 spherical microphone which provides an easy workflow of multitrack recording and mixing. The desktop application for macOS, Linux and Windows gained many new features and is now more user friendly.

Marketed as the world's first portable recording studio able to capture a live performance directly into multiple separate tracks, the Zylia ZM-1 Microphone Array is actually found multiple possible applications including for spatial recording in virtual and augmented reality productions, showing great potential for R&D activities also in noise measurement and even voice capture in meeting rooms. Now the Poland-based developer revealed that its powerful microphone array is powered by MEMS technology from Infineon Technologies.

Digital signal processing solutions specialist Waves Audio, confirmed the availability of its new Waves Nx, Virtual Mix Room solution for mixing with headphones. This new acoustics emulation plugin simulates depth, natural reflections, and the stereo image of an actual, physical room, allowing for a “virtual speaker” experience on headphones, allowing mixing even for 5.1 surround on regular stereo headphones.
