Sound Semiconductor New Mixer Chip Provides Voltage Control of Six Inputs into a Single Output

Sound Semiconductor announced the ProCircuit 6-into-1 Voltage Controlled Mixer. Based on a new-generation Operational Transconductance Amplifier (OTA), the patent pending SSI2190 allows current-mode linear control of each channel. Differential voltage inputs provide design flexibility, and a high-compliance current output makes summing from multiple sources - including other SSI2190’s - an easy endeavor.

Following the recent expansion of Sound Semiconductor's range of IC products with new single and dual VCA chips, the Sonora, California, -based company founded by Dan Parks, now announced a new audio-band Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) integrated circuit. The first new electronic music VCO IC in decades, the FatKeys SSI2130 has been a long time in the making, and credit is due to the company's great chip designers, which seem determined to quickly build up Sound Semiconductor's portfolio.

Sound Semiconductor announced single and dual channel VCA additions to its product lineup, the ProCircuit SSI2161 and FatKeys SSI2162.The ICs are part of a family of affordable high-performance VCAs from the company, now offering a single, dual and quad versions. The SSI2164 offers four VCAs in a compact SOP package with lowest cost-per VCA, while the new SSI2162 is a versatile building block for high-performance audio applications, and the single-channel SSI2161 provides lowest noise.
