Exeger and Atmosic Technologies Partner to Create Energy Harvesting Solutions

Exeger, the innovative Swedish company that created a unique solar cell flexible membrane that converts all forms of light into electrical energy continues to establish strategic partnerships and expand its proof-of-concept use cases. Exeger and US-based semiconductor company Atmosic Technologies are now working together to create attractive energy harvesting solutions for connected devices. Meanwhile, Exeger attended the IBC show in Amsterdam, to demonstrate a new TV remote control from Omni Remotes that will remain perpetually charged.

Exeger, the innovative Swedish technology company behind the revolutionary solar cell technology Powerfoyle, announced its partnership with Switzerland-based semiconductor manufacturer EM Microelectronic to develop boost-converter solutions that can expand the efficiency of energy-harvesting applications. In early 2022, Exeger had already announced a partnership with NGK to use EnerCera thin and flexible batteries combined with Powerfoyle technology.

Exeger has partnered once again with lifestyle audio brand Urbanista to launch true wireless earbuds powered by its Powerfoyle solar cell material technology, allowing endless playtime. The launch marks the next phase in the two companies’ partnership which was first announced following the launch of Urbanista Los Angeles, the world’s first self-charging over-ear headphones in 2021. The new Urbanista Phoenix TWS earbuds come with a self-charging case when exposed to any form of light.

Swedish company Exeger - the company behind the Powerfoyle solar cell material already powering self-charging consumer electronic devices - venture capital firm Forward.One, and music producer and DJ Martin Garrix, have led the latest funding round of investment in the innovative Dutch audio-tech start-up, Mayht. The Series A follow-on round takes investment in the firm to nearly USD $10 million so far.

Urbanista, the Swedish lifestyle audio brand and STRAX subsidiary, announced Urbanista Los Angeles, the world's first self-charging, wireless active noise cancelling headphones, powered by Powerfoyle solar cell material. This advanced green technology developed by Exeger was first implemented in headphones in a partnership with Harman (JBL). The new Los Angeles ANC headphones are the first ANC design that will use a Powerfoyle headband surface to convert all forms of light, outdoor and indoor, into energy to deliver virtually infinite playtime.

Through a new strategic approach, JBL is promoting a new sustainable, solar-powered headphone model, the JBL REFLECT Eternal. A first for the brand, JBL is using Indiegogo to crowdsource interest for a solar-powered headphone with unlimited playtime. This concept marries a light converting material from Swedish brand Exeger into an on-ear JBL form-factor for everyday use. By collaborating directly with potential users, JBL hopes to gain insights and feedback on self-charging, eco-friendly technology to ensure it meets their needs.
