XMOS Announces New Generative System-on-Chip Architecture for Product Development

XMOS announced the launch of a fourth generation of its XCORE platform, now as Generative System-on-Chip or GenSoC architecture. Defining a new category of hardware programmability, GenSoC allows developers to describe system behavior in natural language and guarantee timing accuracy and functional performance in real-time, leveraging the same XCORE parallel processing elements, and allowing endless reconfiguration at the speed of software and AI.

JUCE announced the key features of its upcoming JUCE 8 Audio Application Framework, described as "a leap forward in audio application and plug-in development." This release will introduce long-anticipated features, including the ability to design and deploy GUIs with embedded web views, a faster Direct2D-based renderer, a new animation framework, enhanced Unicode support, and more.

With Microchip's new Power Delivery Software Framework (PSF), designers can now modify and own the IP in their USB Type-C with Power Delivery (PD) systems. By merging their proprietary code with Microchip's fully functional PD stack, designers have the ultimate flexibility for creating differentiated products while choosing from a wide variety of Microchip SmartHubs, microcontrollers (MCUs) and standalone PD solutions for their USB systems.

Pico Technology announced availability of the new PicoScope 4000A Series PC-based oscilloscopes, a second-generation upgrade and expansion of the company's high-resolution, deep-memory product portfolio. With 2-, 4- and 8-channel models available, the PicoScope 4000A Series boasts 12-bit hardware resolution (to 16 bits with Resolution Enhancement), 256 MS deep capture memory, 20 MHz bandwidth with 80 MS/s sampling speed, up to 70 dB SFDR and a built-in 14-bit triggerable signal generator and 80 MS/s AWG. A SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface powers the instrument and delivers up to 160 MS/s communications to the host PC.

Following the announcement of their strategic alliance at InfoComm 2018, Atlona and Symetrix will take the first steps of a co-education initiative with a webinar. Scheduled from 10:30-11am on September 20, “Systems Design for Networked Audio” will outline the essentials of managing AES67 and Dante audio in a networked AV ecosystem, along with specifics on applying Atlona and Symetrix solutions to strengthen the overall infrastructure.
