Synaptics announced that Rahul Patel has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer, and a Director of the company. The semiconductor industry executive with experience at Qualcomm and Broadcom will drive the company’s next chapter of innovation and growth in Processing, Connectivity, and Sensing. Patel succeeds Synaptics CFO Ken Rizvi, who has served as the company’s Interim CEO since February 2025, and will continue to serve as the company’s CFO.

STMicroelectronics has achieved USB-IF (USB Implementers Forum) certification of two ICs for use in adapter (source) and device (sink) sides of a USB Power Delivery (USB PD) EPR power supply/charger product. Toshiba Develops SiC MOSFET with Embedded Schottky Barrier Diode that Delivers Low On-Resistance and High Reliability

Toshiba developed an SiC metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) that arranges embedded Schottky barrier diodes (SBD) in a check pattern to realize both low on-resistance and high reliability. Toshiba has confirmed that the design secures an approximately 20% reduction in on-resistance (RonA - the resistance value between the drain and source of a MOSFET during operation) against its current SiC MOSFET, with no loss of reliability.
