According to the market research firm, home audio speakers will continue to lead the way, as voice recognition improves, with significant growth opportunities in smartphones, headphones, appliances, automotive, and the enterprise.

According to the latest report from SAR Insight & Consulting, strong growth is expected for all voice software, driven by its inclusion in increasing numbers of voice-enabled devices and by the increased use of digital assistants. “SAR has repeatedly discussed the scale and opportunity of the voice tech market,” says Peter Cooney, principal analyst at SAR. “Voice will be the main interface technology for many devices and the opportunities for hardware and software vendors will be huge.”

According to the latest report from SAR Insight & Consulting (Global Consumer Wired and Wireless Headphones), the overall consumer headphone market has risen steadily over recent years to reach almost $15.5 billion in 2016, and is forecast to see continued strong growth to be more than $20 billion in 2020. Sales will be driven by the increasing popularity of wireless headphone technology, SAR Insight forecasts.
