New Audio Brand Consonus Debuts Tide Speaker System at AXPONA 2024

Inspired by the possibilities to take audio fidelity to unexplored horizons, audio industry professionals Igor Levitsky and Eugene Gribov decided to combine their expertise and passion for audio to create Consonus Inc. The new Englewood, NJ-based company made its effective debut at AXPONA 2024 (April 12-14), with the premier of the Tide speaker system, a unique four-way, fully active design with outboard amplification, combining dipole MF and HF planar ribbons with an open baffle woofer and a sealed subwoofer.

Roon announced the release of Nucleus One, the newest addition to the Nucleus music server product line combining high performance and affordability. Already benefiting from additional resources since the Roon acquisition by Harman, the Nucleus One leverages advances in computer technology, technical design, and manufacturing processes to deliver an attractively priced turn-key device specifically intended for Roon's library management, music exploration, and multiroom music player software.

Mytek Audio is now shipping its new Brooklyn Bridge II Roon Core. The new design combines a Roon Core server, high-end streamer, DAC, preamplifier with phono MM/MC input, and headphone amplifier in a single unit. This all-in-one system allows users to explore the Roon music player system without the need to set up a complex network or use multiple devices.

Roon was always the media library and streaming player software for those users who want to appreciate cover artwork and read all about the artists and all the recording credits, as much as listening to the music. And obviously, this was always associated with a home desktop experience, that only a large screen - or a large tablet, at best - can provide. With the new Roon 2.0, the company takes the experience mobile with the Roon ARC app for iOS and Android mobile devices. Roon 2.0 also brings additional enhancements, like native support for Apple Silicon.

New York-based Mytek Digital revealed the details on its new Empire DAC/Streamer/Preamplifier, supposed to be the flagship of a new Empire series of very high-end audio products. As the company describes, this is an "all out" assault on the state-of-the-art, establishing Mytek as a top echelon player in the high-performance audio arena. The Streamer will be “Powered by Roon OS” and features an internal Roon Core that can drive both the ultra-high performance Empire DAC and external Roon endpoints.
