Dear Reality Updates Spatializer and Virtual Monitoring Plugins

Dear Reality, the company working in the field of immersive audio controllers, best known for its binaural, Ambisonics, and multichannel encoders with realistic room virtualization, has announced a series of exciting updates to its spatializer, monitoring and mixing plug-ins. Being part of the Sennheiser group, the company's solutions are now benefiting from further integration, including the patented Sennheiser AMBEO Clarity algorithm.

German company New Audio Technology (NAT) and Plugivery Distribution, have announced a collaboration to make NAT's Spatial Audio Technology products available to sound designers, musicians, producers, and mixing engineers worldwide. With musicians highly invested in mixing to immersive audio formats, NAT's Spatial Audio Designer plug-ins are an affordable range of audio tools for creating and monitoring any surround or spatial audio format with speakers or regular headphones.

Immersive audio specialist Dear Reality has been refocusing on production tools for spatial audio applications, including binaural rendering of those sources for regular headphones. To address growing requirements in that field, Dear Reality launched a plugin bundle to enhance any stereo production with a simplified mixing workflow and adding spatial audio. The bundle combines the dearVR MIX virtual mix room plugin with stereo music spatializer dearVR MUSIC.

Bluesound, the wireless hi-res audio company, part of Lenbrook International, announced BluOS 3.16, introducing a series of enhancements including Dolby Atmos support. Ahead of the US Black Friday holiday, Bluesound users will be prompted to update their BluOS players, at which time, they will gain access to the immersive power of Dolby Atmos for the Pulse Soundbar+ and BluOS-Enabled products, including all-new audio settings for home theater sound.

Dear Reality, the spatial audio and VR/AR audio software company that was acquired by Sennheiser in 2019, released dearVR MIX, a monitoring plugin for headphone mixing, suited for all professional studio headphones. The solution features an exclusive Spatial Headphone Compensation feature, supporting the 44 most used professional studio headphones, and enabling reference listening in 3 virtual stereo mix rooms with 4 selectable loudspeaker positions and 6 additional, non-studio listening environments.

Sennheiser has taken a majority sharehold in Dear Reality GmbH. The German company specialized in spatial audio algorithms and VR/AR audio software will continue to operate as a separate company based in Düsseldorf and Dear Reality confirms that its existing customers will be able to rely on existing dearVR products, while looking forward to new joint VR/AR workflows developed in collaboration with Sennheiser. Uwe Cremering, responsible for AMBEO Immersive Audio at Sennheiser, will support the company as a third CEO alongside founders Achim Fell and Christian Sander.
