Antelope Audio Premieres World’s First USB-C Bus-Powered Modeling Mic

Professional audio manufacturer Antelope Audio is firing on all cylinders with the worldwide premiere of three one-of-a-kind, industry-leading products for modern recording studios. Edge Go is the world’s first USB-C bus-powered modeling microphone, enabling a complete studio experience with circuit-level mic and gear emulations onboard Antelope Audio’s real-time FPGA FX platform. The company also announced new updates for the Orion32+ Gen 3 and Orion32 HD Gen 3 audio interfaces offering improved conversion quality at affordable prices.

During the RISC-V Summit, in Santa Clara, CA, Western Digital announced three new open-source innovations designed to support Western Digital’s internal RISC-V development efforts and those of the growing RISC-V ecosystem. In his keynote address, Western Digital’s Chief Technology Officer Martin Fink unveiled plans to release a new open source RISC-V core, an open standard initiative for cache coherent memory over a network and an open source RISC-V instruction set simulator.

Microchip Technology, via its Microsemi Corporation subsidiary, extended its Mi-V ecosystem by unveiling the architecture for a new class of SoC FPGAs that combine the industry's lowest power mid-range PolarFire FPGA family with a complete microprocessor subsystem based on the open, royalty-free RISC-V instruction set architecture (ISA). Demonstrations took place during RISC-V Summit (Dec. 4-5) to show size, power and performance benefits of integrating PolarFire SoC's Hard CPU Subsystem with Programmable Logic.

Audionamix, the audio source separation specialists, debuted XTRAX STEMS 2 at the AES NY 2018 convention. With the latest updates to XTRAX STEMS, the world’s first fully-automatic stem creation solution, producers and DJs can further enhance their creative processes. The software’s newest features include a faster, advanced algorithm, higher-fidelity drum processing and a fully-adjustable, real-time separation balance matrix with presets. These updates provide heightened separation ability for live sets, mashups and remixes.

At the 2015 InfoComm Show in Orlando, FL, Waves Audio confirmed that its SoundGrid technology was adopted by Avid for its new VENUE S6L live sound console. A similar announcement was made by German company Lawo, who adopted the audio networking technology and Waves plug-ins for its mc2 consoles.
