Enabling Lossless Spatial Audio in Wireless Headphones Using Integrated Wi-Fi

InnoPhase IoT, a semiconductor company specializing in ultra-low power Wi-Fi, and GreenWaves Technologies, the company pioneering ultra-low power AI and DSP processors for hearables and connected devices, announced the development of a lossless audio reference design for Wi-Fi headphones. In collaboration with Danish pioneer IDUN Audio, InnoPhase and GreenWaves have created a platform that enables Spatial Audio for hearables and headphones with extended range and long battery life.

WiSA Technologies is starting to ship WiSA E development kits to key tier 1 TV and audio customers in major markets, including Korea, Japan, United States and China. WiSA E enables HDTV/soundbar brands to transmit high-quality, multichannel audio, wirelessly. Creating an ecosystem of interoperable products using standard 5GHz and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, WiSA E offers high-performance, high-quality wireless audio transmission and reception at an affordable price.

WiSA Technologies announced two new tools designed to streamline the development and manufacturing of WiSA E (Embedded) and WiSA DS (Discrete System) implementations. The new WiSA Server, in combination with the new Product Support Engineering Tool (PEST), enable faster time-to-market as well as comprehensive management of testing and other aspects of the manufacturing process.

SPARK Microsystems, a Canadian fabless semiconductor company specializing in next-generation ultra-wideband (UWB), has recently teamed up with the UWB Alliance, the international non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and growth of UWB, in a joint effort to test the coexistence and aggregation capabilities of the technology in environments where other UWB or other wireless protocols and radio devices are in use. And wireless audio is among the most promising applications that SPARK Microsystems is testing over UWB.

WiSA Technologies announced the results of an independent lab testing of its new DS 2.4GHz multichannel wireless audio module which is designed specifically for soundbars with wireless rear speakers and a subwoofer. The testing compares the reliability of the DS module in a typical home environment to the reliability of two of the market-leading competitive solutions.
