Microchip Offers New Long-Reaching USB 3.2 Compatible Reclocker/Redriver Devices for Up to 15 Meters in Both Directions

The standard universal serial bus or USB connection is an industry mainstay that transfers data between two devices. Applications across the automotive, industrial and consumer industries have spurred the need for far-reaching USB cabling products. Microchip now introduced the new EQCO510 and EQCO5X31 devices, which offer a solid two-channel solution to send high-speed data signals up to 15 meters in both directions.

Cadence Design Systems announced the availability of the industry’s first Verification IP (VIP) that enables comprehensive and fast verification of the physical layer (PHY) for complex protocols such as PCIe 5.0, USB3/4, DDR5, LPDDR5, HBM and MIPI CSI-2 and DSI 2.0. This allows companies to thoroughly test and optimize their PHY designs, accelerating development.

Analogix Semiconductor announced the availability of its second generation ANX74xx family of 10 Gbps USB-C re-timers capable of switching DisplayPort and USB 3.2 Gen2 signals to support a single USB-C port for next generation high-performance, low-power notebooks, 2-in-1 convertible laptops, desktop PCs, mobile devices, and servers. Built on a market proven architecture, the ANX74xx family complies with USB Repeater Specification for USB Gen 1 (5G) and Gen 2 (10G).

Synopsys announced the availability of the industry's first verification IP (VIP) and UVM source code test suite to support the latest USB 3.2 specification. USB 3.2 enables new hosts and devices with USB Type-C to be designed as multi-lane solutions, allowing for up to two lanes of 5 Gbps or two lanes of 10 Gbps operation, doubling the data rate over the existing USB Type-C cables. It also supports re-timer enhancements.
