EPC Introduces 12V – 48V 500W GaN Boost Converter in Collaboration With Renesas

EPC announced the availability of the EPC9166, a 500W DC-DC demo board that converts a 12V input to 48V output. The EPC9166 demo board demonstrates the Renesas ISL81807 80V two-phase synchronous boost controller with the latest generation EPC2218 eGaN FETs from EPC to achieve greater than 96.5% efficiency in a 12V input to 48V regulated output conversion with 500kHz switching frequency. The output voltage can be configured to 36V, 48V, and 60V. The board can deliver 480W power without a heatsink.

STMicroelectronics has announced its ST1PS01 step-down converters. The devices are engineered for small size, low quiescent current and high efficiency at all values of load current, to save energy and real-estate in keep-alive connected devices such as asset trackers, wearables, smart sensors and smart meters. Leveraging synchronous rectification, efficiency is 92% at 400 mA full load and 95% when delivering just 1 mA.

Pulse Electronics Power BU, a leading provider of electronic components, announced the release of its new PH9455 series, the amorphous metal common mode choke. Expanding on the existing Pulse family of common mode chokes, the PH9455 series provide higher impedance per unit volume when compared to ferrite core solutions, and filters out common mode EMI noise while reducing size.
