NXP's VIT Speech to Intent Engine with Natural Language Understanding Enables Voice Interactions On-Device

NXP Semiconductors announced the VIT Speech to Intent engine, a natural language understanding engine that leverages edge computing to enable local voice control. Part of NXP’s Voice Intelligent Technology (VIT) software suite, the VIT Speech to Intent engine rivals cloud-based systems' performance, and does not require a cloud connection, supporting improved user privacy in consumer electronics and automotive applications.

DSP Group and Alango Technologies announced the availability of Alango’s Extended Voice Communication Package (eVCP), a universal software package of digital signal processing technologies for voice applications, running on DSP Group’s DBMD7 SmartVoice processor. The combination allows companies developing high-performance voice conferencing systems to quickly bring to market solutions with the best in voice clarity and system flexibility.

Leading embedded wireless voice/AI solutions provider Libre Wireless Technologies announced a strategic alliance with Knowles Corporation to jointly promote and market new solutions based on the MAVID (Multiprotocol-Audio-Voice-IoT-Devices) platform. These miniature-sized and low power mic-to-cloud edge voice/AI computing solutions now feature Knowles' micro-acoustic microphones and speaker technology, optimized for smart product development.
