Grimm Audio: Building the Dream

As a relatively young company, Grimm Audio has consistently put its mark on both the pro audio and hi-fi scene and Jan Didden shares what he learned about their unique in-house development philosophy. Polish audio manufacturer HEM continues to introduce new high-end audio products under its brand Ferrum. First it launched the HYPSOS hybrid power system, followed by the OOR headphone amplifier, and the ERCO USB-C DAC with headphone preamp, establishing a new reference in quality and price for a desktop high end design. Now, the company introduced the new WANDLA, a flagship DA converter that can also be powered by the HYPSOS.

ROHM Semiconductor announced that it has developed the new BD34352EKV digital-to-analog converter IC (DAC) and corresponding evaluation board (BD34352EKV-EVK-001), supporting playback of high-resolution audio sources in high-fidelity audio equipment. Complementing its latest MUS-IC BD34301EKV flagship DAC, the new product was designed to maximally extract and convert high resolution digital audio data to analog audio signals in new product designs.

ESS Technology announced a completely new series of SABRE PRO and SABRE Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADC) with an Ultra Low Noise Floor Bandwidth of 200kHz. According to the Californian company, the noise floor bandwidth on the new devices is up to 10 times wider than the competition, enabling higher resolution at higher sample rates. The two new SABRE PRO, and two new SABRE ADC devices set a new benchmark for audio performance with unmatched specifications and the highest sample rate available in the market.
