Feasycom and Nordic Semiconductor Unveil Dual-Mode Module Supporting Bluetooth Classic and LE Audio

Nordic Semiconductor says it is shipping more than 1 million Bluetooth LE System-On-Chips (SoCs) every day, claiming market leadership in the emerging category. Expanding on the range of complete solutions for building LE Audio products, Nordic's nRF5340 dual-core SoC was designed to meet all requirements of LE Audio development. Using this SoC, Shenzhen Feasycom launched its FSC-BT631D advanced wireless audio module for dual-mode Bluetooth Classic audio and LE Audio product designs.

CEVA announced that its RivieraWaves Bluetooth Dual Mode 5.3 Platform has achieved Bluetooth SIG Qualification, along with its GAF (Generic Audio Framework) and LC3 codec. As the first IP company to receive Bluetooth Dual Mode 5.3 qualification, CEVA brings the latest improvements in Bluetooth connectivity and LE Audio to the market, lowering the entry barriers for semiconductors and OEMs targeting LE Audio applications. 1 billion CEVA-powered Bluetooth devices are estimated to have shipped in 2021.

Cypress Semiconductor announced two low-power, dual-mode Bluetooth 5.0 and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) microcontrollers (MCUs) that include support for Bluetooth mesh networking, and provide simultaneous Bluetooth 5.0 audio and BLE connections, delivering low-power wireless solutions that enable music and voice commands for battery-powered personal devices. With the new CYW20819 and CYW20820 MCUs, designers can also develop low-cost, low-power Bluetooth mesh network devices.

CEVA, the leading licensor of signal processing platforms for connected devices, along with French wireless audio pioneer Tempow, unveiled a collaboration to bring next-generation True Wireless Stereo (TWS) to the Bluetooth earbud mass market. As mentioned in a recent article by CEVA's Marketing Director, Franz Dugand, the resulting joint IP solution delivers synchronized left/right audio over standard Bluetooth dual mode connected links with short latency and without the power consumption penalty associated with many of today’s TWS implementations.
