From Microspeakers to Room Acoustics: COMSOL Promotes Three Acoustics Simulation Online Events

COMSOL continues its global virtual event series with COMSOL Day: Acoustics, to be held in three different time zones, with each event featuring a one-day program focusing on acoustics simulation using COMSOL Multiphysics software. Sessions will be hosted online on April 28, May 5, and May 19 by organizers in the USA, Europe, and China, respectively. Three online COMSOL Day events will showcase the benefits of multiphysics simulation to industries developing audio and acoustics products.

With the latest release of COMSOL Multiphysics 6, users of the Acoustics Module will benefit from many new and highly requested features that reflect the software's increasing use in the audio industry. Expanding the level of detail and applicability of multiphysics simulation to every area of development, COMSOL Multiphysics V6 introduces a new platform feature for model management, uncertainty quantification analysis, and important updates and performance enhancements to all modules.

Consumers are increasingly looking to have high quality sound integrated into their lives in creative ways. However, ensuring that their demands are met across connectivity and sound can be hard to achieve. Often, the more creative and interesting the application, the higher chance it’s harder to produce a sound that is perfect for every use case.

The Audio Product Education Institute (APEI) is an initiative of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) that is committed to furthering the knowledge and skills of professionals involved in the development of audio products. The new entity will present Interactive Voice Con, an online program designed to address real-world experiences in Voice Integrated Product Development. The first presentation will take place July 9, 2020 and registration is now open.

Voice-enabled devices are quickly becoming commonplace in nearly every region and for every consumer demographic. Whether making cloud-connected or offline products, OEMs need to understand what’s driving this demand for voice. COMSOL announced the latest version of COMSOL Multiphysics Version 5.4, which in addition to two new products provides performance improvements and additional modeling tools. The latest version of COMSOL Multiphysics features COMSOL Compiler, giving specialists the freedom to distribute their simulation applications through executable files, and the Composite Materials Module for layered structures analysis. For acoustics modeling applications, the update introduces acoustic ports and nonlinear acoustics Westervelt model.
