Knowles Debuts Trio of SiSonic MEMS Microphones for High-Performance TWS and Hearable Designs

Knowles introduced its latest series of SiSonic MEMS microphones at CES 2023. The new Titan (Digital), Falcon (Differential Analog), and Robin (Single Ended Analog) are a new trio of microphones providing advanced performance capabilities for space constrained ear and wearable applications like True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds, smart watches, Augmented Reality (AR) glasses and Virtual Reality (VR) headsets.

CUI Devices announced the addition of two MEMS microphone models purposely designed for active noise cancellation applications. With the industry increasingly requiring array configurations to enable processing of the audio signals captured by MEMS microphones in true wireless earbuds, headphones and headsets, the Audio Group of CUI Devices designed new models with high signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) and high acoustic overload points (AOP).

TDK Corporation introduced the InvenSense ICS-40638 MEMS analog microphone, a new high-performance solution enabling clear audio capture in loud and noisy conditions, with an extended frequency response from 35 Hz to 20kHz. The ICS-40638 microphone offers an ultra-high Acoustic Overload Point (AOP) of 138 dB Sound Pressure Level (SPL), exceptionally efficient 170 µA low power operation and high Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) of 63 dB in a small 3.5 mm x 2.65 mm x 0.98 mm bottom port surface‐mount package.
