Yamaha Launches EMX5 and EMX7 Portable Powered Mixers

Yamaha has announced two new models in the popular EMX series of integrated mixers, the EMX5 and EMX7. Following the launch of the EMX2 earlier in 2016, the EMX5 and EMX7 add greater power and more features to the new lightweight and intuitive design, which has brought a new level of portability and ease of use to the popular EMX range. Suitable for musicians, performers, DJs and public speakers, the EMX5 and EMX7 are the ideal solution for a wide range of situations - from small to mid-sized musical or cooperate events, to fixed installations at bars and restaurants, houses of worship, rehearsal studios and more.

Allen & Heath has extended its top selling ZED series mixer range with the launch of ZED Power 1000, a compact 2X500W powered mixer with onboard FX, 9 band graphic EQ and USB recording / playback. The new mixer combines integrated class D amplification with a set of specifications that make it attractive to musicians, bands, schools, hotels and conference venues.

A small iceberg has been turned into the most unlikely of gig venues in the Greenland Sea, as UK metal band The Defiled (Nuclear Blast Records) performed on top of the ice platform for the Jägermeister Ice Cold Gig – which sees artists put to the test as they perform in unconventional conditions. British company Studiomaster supplied a “berg suitable” PA for the world’s first ever gig, performed in sub-zero temperatures.
