Audio Engineering Society European Convention in Warsaw, Poland, May 22-24

The Audio Engineering Society has published the full conference schedule for the 158th AES Convention, taking place in Warsaw, Poland, opening on Thursday, May 22, and running through Saturday, May 24. This is the second time that the AES European Convention will be in Warsaw. The selected venue for the event - modern film studios - should be an interesting choice. The conference will offer a wide array of topics, including music production, immersive and automotive audio.

A rapidly growing number of platforms and playback devices now support xHE-AAC decoding natively, which means interrupted or buffering audio and video streams are becoming a thing of the past. Consumer devices powered by the latest Android, Fire and Apple operating systems support the most efficient AAC codec with mandatory MPEG-D DRC loudness and dynamic range control metadata – delivering a seamless streaming experience on any device in any environment.

The Audio Engineering Society has announced that Louis D. Fielder, a leading researcher in the fields of psychoacoustics and audio coding, will deliver the Heyser Memorial Lecture at the upcoming AES New York Convention on Thursday, October 17 at 6:30 pm. AES Fellow and former Society president takes the stage of the lauded lecture series to share insights from his vast experience in research and development of cutting-edge industry technologies.

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) Milan 144th International Convention, May 23–26, 2018, was a small but well-attended event, extremely enjoyable for all those that participated. As always, a mix of audio industry professionals, students, educators, and top brands and audio service providers from around the world met "for the purpose of advancing the art and science of audio engineering."
