Audinate Confirms Dante Audio Networking Licensed to More Than 500 Manufacturers

Audinate’s Dante, the de facto standard for digital audio networking, recently reached an impressive milestone with more than 3,000 different products now incorporating Dante for audio-over-IP connectivity. According to research from RH Consulting, 3,034 Dante-enabled devices are available from 361 different manufacturers as of January 2021. The data from RH Consulting indicates Dante is the protocol of choice in more than 91 percent of the networked audio products currently on the market.

In the works already for some time - but then again, anyone that follows AVB, TSN and Milan audio networking efforts, is used to waiting a long time - Neutrik confirmed that MINEA, the first Milan Certified audio module, is now available. The module will finally allow manufacturers in the live sound and touring market to quickly and easily build a wide range of Milan-compatible audio products, from loudspeakers to expansion boards for mixing consoles.

German connectivity specialists DirectOut have become the latest Ravenna OEM solutions vendor with the release of their new RAV2 high performance network audio module for integration into third party products. The new module also forms the Ravenna AoIP network core of DirectOut’s recently released PRODIGY Series of multifunction audio processors and converters for pro audio, broadcast, installation and studio applications.

During my time at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2019 show, I looked closely at how companies are dealing with the transition to IP networks, how prevalent some proprietary technologies still are in commercial installation and AV in particular (e.g., HDBaseT), and how manufacturers are introducing new products and concepts to integrate those networked systems, in particular those protocols that support AES67 audio and the latest SMPTE ST-2110 suite of standards in general.

At the 2015 IBC show in Amsterdam (11-15 September), Archwave Technologies will be introducing its new uNET MINI module which delivers AES67/Ravenna for end-point applications. The new solution is a complete low-cost sub-system for 2-channel applications such as networked loudspeakers or microphones, over Ethernet cable.

ALC NetworX, developers of the Ravenna Audio-over-IP technology, announced the launch of a brand new website dedicated to Ravenna and AES67 with plenty of dynamic content. The aim is to make the Ravenna technology and information about the recent AES67 interoperability standard as accessible as possible.
