Dialog Audio Announces All-In-One Live Audio Streaming Service

Audio performance tools developer Dialog Audio announced the opening of live — an aptly-named, all-in-one live streaming service specifically targeting audio content producers as a cross-platform, easy-to-use application able to broadcast live in high quality at low costs — to public beta testing, as of August 24. The service encodes audio into an AAC stream directly to multiple services simultaneously, allowing support for social networks such as Facebook, YouTube and others.

Fraunhofer IIS announced the licensing of its MPEG-H Audio patents to Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., allowing Samsung to manufacture products that feature MPEG-H Audio, including TVs and set-top-boxes. As the major contributor to the MPEG-H 3D Audio standard, Fraunhofer IIS is also leading the licensing efforts to enable the broadcast, mobile, media and streaming services and consumer electronics industries to quickly bring MPEG-H Audio to market.

Consumer devices powered by the latest Android, and Apple operating systems all support the most efficient AAC codec with mandatory MPEG-D DRC loudness and dynamic range control metadata – delivering a seamless streaming experience on any device in any environment. A rapidly growing number of platforms and playback devices already support xHE-AAC decoding natively, and now Microsoft can join the improved experience.

Naim Audio announced native Qobuz support for its Mu-so 2nd Generation family of wireless speakers. Enabled via a free over-the-air firmware upgrade, the integration will enable seamless access to Qobuz streaming services - including true high-resolution music streaming - from within the Naim control app. The update was rolled out to all Mu-so Qb 2nd Generation units from June 15, with Mu-so 2nd Generation users being able to update from June 17.
