Cinema Audio Society Announces 2022 Awards Nominations for Outstanding Achievements in Sound Mixing

The Cinema Audio Society in Hollywood announced its nominees for its 58th Annual Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for 2021. The prestigious awards extend to seven creative categories, as well as ten Outstanding Product nominees. After a virtual event in 2021, the Awards ceremony returns as a live event on Saturday, March 19, 2022 in the Wilshire Grand Ballroom at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown.

Musicanote, a music media content startup from Seoul, South Korea, which previously developed a music search engine, has now launched an online music score annotation service. The platform for archiving musical knowledge, enables text, images, and videos to be added to music scores online. Musicanote is a member of the K-ICT Born2Global Centre, a startup ecosystem from the main Korean government agency under the Ministry of Science and ICT.

Challenging established brands in music notation, German company Steinberg Media Technologies just announced details of its own next-generation scoring application for Windows and macOS. Designed by musicians for musicians, Steinberg wants it to become the new choice of professional composers, arrangers, engravers, copyists and educators the world over. Developed by an experienced team, Dorico wants to be the new standard in notation software.

MakeMusic announced the release of a new version of Finale, the acclaimed music notation software. Features added in this release include 64-bit support, better playback abilities with an expanded Garritan sound library, a new ARIA Player with improved interface, improved ability to transpose note entries, and ReWire support to synchronize Finale playback with other pro-level audio software. The new software also improves creating very tall time signatures (popular in large scores) and other improvements requested by publishers.
