Roland Introduces Compact M-5000C Live Mixing Console

Following presentations in all major AV shows around the world, Roland’s M-5000 flagship live mixing console series is slowly gaining some traction in a terribly competitive market. Now Roland decided it was time to introduce the newest model in its O.H.R.C.A. platform with the compact M-5000C version.

Klotz Communications, the new company recently created in Munich, Germany, by Thomas Klotz to focus the group’s efforts on innovation and product development, confirmed it will be showing the Touchstone controller concept at NAB 2015 and Prolight+Sound 2015. The Touchstone is a fully configurable tactile touchscreen controller for flexible control of audio operations.

Mackie announced the launch of the new Mix Series Compact Mixers with three new models, the Mix5 5-Channel Compact Mixer, the Mix8 8-Channel Compact Mixer and the Mix12FX 12-Channel Compact Mixer with Effects. Unfortunately they have no faders. Only the larger model features a master fader. But they are rugged… and cheap.

Anticipating an announcement scheduled for the 137th AES Convention in Los Angeles, Solid State Logic released the details on its new “killer” mid-scale analogue console. SSL calls the XL-Desk “the perfect analogue centre piece for a modern DAW focused studio”, featuring 40+ SuperAnalogue inputs, 18 slot 500 format rack, 8 SSL VHD mic Pre’s on board and more.

Three British console manufacturers have created new ProAudio Group. The surprise announcement confirms the combination of both Allen & Heath and Calrec with DiGiCo, bringing together three British console companies to create a new professional audio group, “while retaining their unique skills, customer relationships and the identities of each brand.”
