Fluid Audio Introduces Image 2 Reference Studio Monitors

Always attempting new approaches in active studio monitor designs, Fluid Audio, the company founded by Kevin Zuccaro (JBL, M-Audio, Avid) just introduced an interesting product. After 3 years of research, Fluid Audio introduced the Image 2, a 3-way reference studio monitor design, dedicated to nearfield and midfield use. Using the latest in DSP development and Class-D amplification the Image 2 is probably one of the more ambitious projects from the brand.

PMC, the famous UK loudspeaker manufacturer announced an ambitious new range of reference monitors that the company believes sets a new "gold standard" for music production. With new compact nearfield and midfield active designs plus low frequency extensions, the new PMC range is the result of five years of intense development targeting the highest possible resolution, with the lowest possible coloration, from stereo to Immersive audio.

Swiss manufacturer PSI Audio announced a new version of its flagship three-way speaker A25-M for 2021. Following on the improvements announced in 2019 with the flow guide introduced in the A23-M monitor, and a larger, more powerful woofer engine, the A25-M boasts an entirely new midrange driver. The Extended Dome Driver (EXD) combines a larger dome and new cone formula, effectively offering the best of both worlds in the process. The new driver system is still mounted to a rotatable baffle to enable vertical or horizontal speaker placement at optimum dispersion.

Genelec expanded “The Ones” series of Ultimate Point Source Monitors to bring uncompromised precision listening to a much wider range of room sizes, listening distances and SPL requirements. With a breakthrough coaxial design, The Ones truly projected Genelec to a whole new precision level in professional audio monitoring. Now, the company introduces a new, more powerful, flagship model, the 8361A, upgrades the 8351B, and introduces a unique low frequency extension to the family.

Focal Professional unveiled the new Trio11 Be active studio monitors at NAMM 2019, which the French brand considers a new benchmark design, making it possible to work as nearfields or midfields. Like the previous Trio6 Be model, Trio11 Be comprises a 3-way monitor and a 2-way monitor, which makes it possible to check the sound quality of the mix by using FOCUS mode - a Focal innovation - that is remote controllable and can be activated by simply pressing a control pedal.

KRK Systems, a division of Gibson Brands, claims to be the #1 brand globally in studio monitors and its affordable ROKIT powered models certainly have contributed for that claim. KRK now introduced two new Generation 3 ROKIT powered studio monitors, all featuring the same cabinet shape: The ROKIT 4, the smallest speaker in the line, and the ROKIT 10-3 Three-Way monitor.
