To mark the 50th anniversary of the legendary Neve 1073 classic microphone preamp, AMS Neve announced the 1073OPX, a brand new Octal Microphone/Line/Instrument Preamplifier that is designed to meet the needs of the modern studio environment. Originally the preamp was used in all channels of the Neve A88 console at Wessex Sound Studios in London. Installed in 1970, the Neve 1073 is one the most admired microphone preamplifier circuits, and also one of the most emulated. Now, AMS Neve created an 8-channel version with optional integration features.

For 2020, CMA Audio plans to invest in the extension of research and development in the company's headquarters in Constance, in the South of Germany, to overhaul the entire product catalog, which includes Lake People, Violectric and Niimbus brands, and to establish a new cable manufacture operation in cooperation with Japanese manufacturer Mogami. Target markets continues to be professional audio, hi-fi and high end audio enthusiasts.

PCB Awarded Patent For Universal Phantom Powered Preamplifier

PCB Piezotronics, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MTS Systems Corporation, was awarded a patent for a universal phantom powered preamplifier. PCB engineers Mark Nowak and Drew Karkau are inventors of the patent for Model 426A14, describing a phantom powered preamp for use with a microphone cartridge having a unique mechanical interface, which allows the phantom powered preamp to function with both 1/4" and 1/2" microphone cartridges.
