Meyer Sound Celebrates 45 Years with New Logo and Reaffirmed Investment in the Future of Sound

A pioneer in professional sound reinforcement since 1979, Meyer Sound celebrates 45 years of innovation in 2024. The company signaled the occasion with a new logo that underscores its commitment to the future of sound. The rebranding initiative highlights Meyer Sound's continuous dedication to pushing boundaries, advancing technologies, and shaping the industry for the next generation.

SMPTE, the home of media professionals, technologists, and engineers, has once again honored industry luminaries and next-generation leaders. The 2022 SMPTE Awards Gala takes place during the SMPTE Media Technology Summit (The Summit), the Society's first in-person conference since 2019. Among the names honored by the SMPTE, John Meyer receives the Samuel L. Warner Memorial Medal, which recognizes a Lifetime of Contributions to Excellence in Cinema Sound.

This would have been one of the major news announcements at the NAMM Show 2022 if it had happened at the end of January as usual (it didn't). That didn't stop Meyer Sound to stick to the original plan and introduce Panther, a new line array system that sets a new industry benchmark for a compact, lightweight, powerful, and energy-efficient sound reinforcement solution. Meyer Sound says Panther was engineered to meet rapidly evolving demands for large-scale touring and installed systems.

Meyer Sound’s Constellation acoustic system was introduced in 2006 and has been discreetly and gradually leading a revolution in variable acoustics and the design of performance spaces. Using an array of ambient sensing microphones, sophisticated digital signal processing, and loudspeakers, Constellation modifies the reverberant characteristics of a venue and redistributes sound throughout the space, ensuring a natural acoustic experience in every seat.

Celebrating decades of professional audio leadership in its 70th anniversary year, the Audio Engineering Society raised the bar yet again with its 145th International Convention, the place to be to celebrate and experience the past, present and future of audio engineering technologies and techniques. Contrary to typical event patterns, for the second year in a row in New York City, the Convention’s exhibition floor was still packed at closing time – the Jacob Javits Center staff had to plead for a cleared hall with attendees who did not want their experience to end.

This year’s 145th Audio Engineering Society (AES) International Convention is being held once again at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City, New York. Dates for the 2018 convention are October 17–20 (October 17–19 for the exhibits). The 145th AES Convention will offer Technical Program presentations, workshops, discussion panels, and more, as well as the year’s largest dedicated professional audio showcase and exhibition. The convention will be once again concurrent with the independent NAB Show New York 2018 event (17-18) in an adjacent exhibition hall.

2017 promises to be an interesting year for Meyer Sound. While the Californian company continues to innovate and expand worldwide, its founders and audio pioneers, John and Helen Meyer, celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Summer of Love, when both met.
