WiSA Technologies Announces Program to License its Wireless Multichannel Audio Technology

WiSA Technologies announced a licensing program for its high-quality, multichannel wireless WiSA E software. Expanding from its original, hardware-based module approach, the new software licensing program is targeted towards HDTV platforms and speaker manufacturers. WiSA E is an interoperable audio software/IP solution designed for wireless sound technology on TV and Wi-Fi SoC platforms, enabling built-in transmission capabilities of high-quality multichannel audio streams.

CEVA, Inc., the wireless connectivity and smart sensing technologies licensing company, announced that cumulative royalty-bearing chip shipments that include CEVA IP surpassed 15 billion units during the second quarter of 2022. This significant milestone has been achieved as CEVA approaches it’s 20-year anniversary of being a public company. While the first 10 billion CEVA-powered shipments spanned more than 15 years, the next 5 billion shipments took less than three and a half years.

Xperi Corporation - the owner of DTS and HD Radio - and TiVo Corporation announced they entered into a definitive agreement to merge in an all-stock transaction, representing approximately $3 billion of combined enterprise value. The transaction creates a much larger consumer and entertainment technology business and one of the industry’s largest intellectual property (IP) licensing platforms with a diverse portfolio of entertainment and semiconductor intellectual property.
