Work in Progress at The Rocky Mountain International Audio Fest (RMAF) 2016

The most cherished and the largest of all high-end consumer audio shows in the US, Rocky Mountain Audio Fest (RMAF) has announced that, due to circumstances beyond their control, the renovations scheduled for the Marriott Denver Tech Center (DTC), have been delayed and will not be complete by the start of the show. In response to this development, RMAF and the Marriott DTC have devised an alternative plan to expand the show into other available space on the property.

Dynaudio introduced its all-new Contour loudspeaker series at this year’s High End show in Munich. This is an all-new, re-thought, re-designed and re-engineered Contour range with four high-performance models: the compact 20, the medium-sized floor standing 30, the larger floor standing 60, and the 25C dedicated centre channel speaker. All models feature new mid and low-frequency drivers, complemented with the renowned Esotar2 tweeter.

Boulder Amplifiers announced the release of its new 2120 D/A Converter and Stereo Amplifier system, offering a reference-level updated digital music source with multiple options. The company says its 2100 Series “marks a substantial increase in performance over the previous 2000 Series, moving the game on from what has long been considered the benchmark in high-performance audio.”

This Test Bench characterizes the Wavecor TW030WA13/14 neodymium tweeters. The A13 is the 4-Ω version, while the A14 is the 8-Ω version and both offer a 30-mm wide surround precision-coated cloth diaphragm optimized for high-frequency cutoff above 20 kHz. Some audio manufacturers seem to be following the same familiar paradigm regarding file distribution and streaming audio as they have previously done with physical media formats.
