Marshall Group Sold to HongShan Capital Group (HSG)

In an unexpected turn of events as the company returned to the NAMM Show for the first time in five years, Marshall Group AB, the new Swedish-Anglo company created in 2023, announced they sold the majority stake to private equity fund HongShan Capital Group (HSG) from China. The major selling shareholders - Altor, Telia Company, Time for Growth, and Zenith VC - have all entered into an agreement with HSG in a deal valuing the company at 1.1 billion Euros. The Marshall family will retain a meaningful stake of over 20% in the company.

Now, it announced the new Gibson Falcon Amplifiers, two low-wattage, compact tube combos that reimagine vintage tones for the modern player. The two new amplifiers are the work of Randall Smith, the founder of Mesa Boogie, and his Gibson Amps Design Team in Petaluma, CA.

Following on the introduction earlier in 2021 of the 6L6GCM-STR, the first model from an all-new high quality premium tube series named REDBASE from Tube Amp Doctor (TAD), the German company now announced the new TAD EL34-STR REDBASE, which can be used for any EL-34 application in guitar amplifiers and also hifi tube designs instead of 6CA7 and KT77 tubes. All tubes in TAD’s REDBASE family are manufactured on a new exclusive production facility.
