Spectral Measurement Adds Loudspeaker Test Chambers To Its Product Portfolio

Spectral Measurement (formerly the Test & Measurement division of Prism Sound) has signed a licensing deal with UK-based Hill Acoustics enabling it to manufacture and sell the company’s Loudspeaker Test Chambers. Hill Acoustics’ LTC range includes a selection of Tetrahedral Test Chambers (TTCs) as well as other geometries that provide test and measurement solutions for loudspeakers, providing an effective, low cost solution that removes the need for large anechoic chambers.

Tracktion Software Corporation and 2JW Design announced they have joined forces with Prism Sound and SADiE to create a dynamic new player in the pro audio market, under the umbrella of Audio Squadron. Essentially, the US based company is joining forces with the British manufacturer to work on expanding audio software tools, while also exploring opportunities in the recording hardware front. A collaboration between companies that will remain independent but have both a long history of perseverance and passion for the audio industry.

Recently I attended the excellent, The Home Entertainment (T.H.E.) Show in Newport, CA. Celebrating its 6th anniversary, and still mourning the tragic loss of its president and founder, Richard Beers, T.H.E. Show Newport exceeded its own 2015 attendance figures, with more than 10,000 attendees. I left with excellent memories of a wonderful organization, a very pleasant location (Irvine), and the motivation to return. Some excellent systems left me with enduring impressions that I thought fit to share in this space.
