Audio Engineering Society Promotes Second Immersive Audio Academy One-Day Event

The Audio Engineering Society's second-in-series Immersive Audio Academy offers insights from top producers and researchers in the industry, hands-on immersive music mixing opportunities and more for attendees. Leaders in the field of immersive audio will gather for the next AES Immersive Audio Academy, being streamcast to a global audience on Thursday, June 17 from 9:00am to 6:00pm ET.

Bob Stuart, creator of MQA and co-founder of Meridian Audio, was awarded the Royal Academy of Engineering Prince Philip Medal for 'his exceptional contribution to audio engineering which has changed the way we listen to music and experience films’. Stuart is the first audio engineer to receive the award in the institution's 20-year history. The Royal Academy of Engineering is UK’s national academy for engineering and technology promoting the advancement and "excellence in engineering."

At the 147th AES New York 2019 convention (October 16–19), the Acoustics and Psychoacoustics Track will feature nine events over the convention’s four days that explore the way we hear and the ways the spaces we listen in affect perception. Acoustics and Psychoacoustics Track chair Alex Case has curated the program, which is dedicated to the prospect that, as Case notes, “all who listen hear better when they know more about the science behind acoustics and psychoacoustics.”

The Audio Engineering Society recently held its first International Conference on Audio Archiving, Preservation & Restoration to a sold-out crowd of attendees at the Library of Congress National Audio-Visual Conservation Center (NAVCC) Packard Campus in Culpeper, Virginia, June 28-30, 2018. Iron Mountain Entertainment Services was the platinum sponsor, with the RIAA, and Recording Academy Producers & Engineers Wing also sponsoring the event.

The Audio Engineering Society, in preparation for its return to Berlin for the 142nd International Convention, has announced details of the Convention’s Technical Program. Europe’s premier pro audio education and networking event takes place May 20 – 23, 2017. The four-day program features presentations covering the latest audio research while spanning a diverse array of audio topics through workshops, tutorials, technical tours, student and career development events, all led by the world's leading audio experts.
