New Phonitor Xe Headphone Amplifier from SPL at High End 2019

Sound Performance Lab (SPL) is one of those companies always ready to surprise. The German company apparently introduced a new version in its Phonitor range of headphone amplifiers, which already included the Phonitor x, the Phonitor e, and the Phonitor 2 (which followed the original Phonitor). The important thing is that the Phoniter xe is the Headphone Amplifier that many where hoping the company would launch and it will be presented at the High End 2019 show in Munich.

Asahi Kasei Microdevices Introduces Premium Audio Solutions at High End 2019 in Munich

Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM) will show its latest flagship Velvet Sound Verita AK4499 32-bit audio D/A Converter (DAC) at the High End 2019 show in Munich, Germany. A newly developed IC manufacturing process was adopted in this flagship DAC to deliver the best sound quality so far in the company's range of products, achieving -124dB THD+N and 140dB S/N. The AK4499 is also the first among AKM products to use a new current output architecture. AKM will also demonstrate its new ultra-low power HiFi D/A converters for Bluetooth headphones, AK4331 (stereo) and AK4332 (mono).

Pioneer Announces Roll-Out of MQA Support for Home Audio Products

Starting October 2018, certain Pioneer branded home audio products will receive a free firmware update enabling playback of MQA-encoded material. With support for both streaming audio, local file, and whole home audio, the Pioneer N-70AE and N-50AE family of network audio players can be used as the hub for all high quality audio pursuits. The NC-50 and NC-50 DAB are network audio players with a built-in CD player and stereo amplifier. MQA is working closely with Onkyo and Pioneer to bring playback support on more home audio products in the coming months.
