RME Unveils 12Mic Preamp with Dante IP Core at 2022 NAMM Show

RME, the German manufacturer of digital audio solutions, debuted the 12Mic Dante as the latest pre-amp to the company's lineup. The new iteration of the existing 12Mic, which was designed for AVB/Milan networks, now supports Dante thanks to a custom-built RME designed FPGA platform utilizing Audinate’s Dante IP Core, a solution that circumvents current and future chip shortages by eliminating the need for an Audinate Dante chip, assuring consistent production of the product.

Audinate, the developer of Dante media networking technology, has announced the availability of Dante IP Core, a soft IP solution for audio manufacturers. It allows OEMs working with FPGA-based designs to add Dante audio connectivity to AV products at a lower cost and with greater flexibility than ever before. A single FPGA may now host both product software and Dante audio networking.
