Rycote Offers Expanded Range of Professional Microphones

In a surprise announcement for many audio recordists - and certainly for many manufacturers of professional microphones - British brand Rycote announced the launch of its own high-end range of professional microphones, designed for the film production, sport broadcast and field recording applications. The range includes condenser pencil-type microphones and hypercardioid shotguns, which Rycote now expanded with the BD-10, a new bi-directional microphone, and a long shotgun design named HC-35.

Dolby Laboratories announced the Dolby Atmos Renderer application, a new product that brings together Dolby’s audio production tools – the Dolby Atmos Production Suite and the Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite – into an all-in-one solution for creators. The new software combines existing functionality, including tools exclusively available only in the Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite, and adds new capabilities like native Apple Silicon compatibility and improved performance.

Artist Connection, an immersive audio streaming platform, announced that for the first time ever, AURO-3D will be streamed via Wi-Fi in a complete end-to-end immersive audio system. This capability will be demonstrated at CES 2023 (January 5–8) at AURO-3D’s private demo suite in The Mirage Hotel. The demonstration includes streaming AURO-3D content via Wi-Fi to a soundbar and a 9.1-channel immersive audio speaker system.
