The driver I examined this month was Italian Pro Sound OEM manufacturer B&C Speakers’ new high temperature polymer diaphragm DE110-8 compression driver coupled with B&C Speakers’ ME10 90° × 60° hyperbolic cosine flare horn (see Photo 1). MAG Audio, the professional transducer and speaker systems manufacturer from Ukraine, introduced a new line of lightweight high-performance HF compression drivers. Following the introduction of the new N7000 series at trade shows, including Prolight+Sound 2016 in Frankfurt, MAG Audio now confirms availability of all three 2.8” aluminum voice coil titanium dome based models, with 1.4” , 1.5” and 2” throat diameters for different horn designs.

B&C Speakers provided the DE980TN-8 — a high-performance titanium diaphragm neodymium compression driver — coupled with a ME90 horn for this Test Bench. The DE980TN is the latest version of B&C Speakers’s 75mm (3.0 in) voice coil, neodymium high frequency driver. The diaphragm in this model has been completely redesigned to incorporate a bent edge voice coil former, new dome and surround geometry and an optimized phase plug. Beyma introduced several new products this year at the Prolight+Sound show in Frankfurt. Additions to the company’s catalogue include new compression drivers in neodymium and ferrite versions, low frequency speakers with new optimized pressed steel frame designs for very diverse applications and a new high quality pleated diaphragm tweeter. The new shallow mid frequency range was another highlight at Beyma’s booth in Frankfurt.
