Inspired by the Shure SM7B, which quickly became an icon among many musicians, podcasters and creatives forced to work from home, the new Shure MV7 is a dynamic microphone with both USB and XLR outputs for use with computers and professional interfaces alike. Basically, the MV7 expands on the famous cardioid studio microphone with software features. RME Audio introduced the HDSPe AIO Pro PCI Express interface digital audio card, the successor to its popular HDSPe AIO card. The Pro version provides professional users in recording studios and broadcast with the same high channel count as well as analog/digital input and output variety of the HDSPe AIO. In terms of technical features RME says that it has "completely reworked the HDSPe AIO Pro, defining the current state-of-the-art in PCI Express cards."

The Institut für Rundfunktechnik (IRT), the central research and development institute of the public broadcasters in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and DSPECIALISTS GmbH, a company specialized in the development and distribution of products for digital audio signal processing and measurement technology, have established a cooperation agreement focused on high-quality loudness control. DSPECIALISTS already ported the IRT loudness adjustment algorithm to its HARVEY signal processing platform.

Fraunhofer IIS confirmed the release and official adoption of the MPEG-H 3D Audio Baseline Profile. The new profile was designed to exactly meet the business and technical needs of the industry and was announced during the MPEG WG11 131st meeting. Tailored for broadcast, streaming, and high-quality immersive music delivery use cases, the MPEG-H 3D Audio Audio Baseline profile supports channel and object signals and is a subset of the existing Low Complexity profile.
